SPCA slams council for chicken and duck catching event in Puchong Perdana Lake

An event held at the Puchong Perdana Lake on July 3 has raised the eyebrows of the SPCA (Society of Prevention of Cruelty to Animals) Selangor. According to Christine Chin, the chairman of the SPCA Selangor, the ‘Chicken and Duck Catching competition’ was an act of cruelty. Slamming the event and its organizers Subang Jaya Municipal Council, those involved could be charged for animal cruelty as stated in Section 43 of the Animals Act 1953 that forbids any person who causes unnecessary pain, suffering and distress to animals. Romantic Robbers nabbed in Puchong

A new form of robbery has surfaced in Puchong recently. Nicknamed ‘Romantic Robbery’, this is where the robbers adopt a new approach from the conventional ‘smash-and-grab’ robbery style. Puchong-Putrajaya flyover to start in October, 2 months ahead of schedule

The construction of the flyover connected Puchong Jaya with Putrajaya is set to be completed and will begin operations in October. According to Linkaran Trans Kota Sdn Bhd (Litrak), the operator and developer of the flyover, this is 2 months ahead of schedule where it was first planned to complete in December. Currently, motorists have to go through a bottleneck from Puchong Perdana heading out and into Putrajaya and the flyover is surely a welcomed addition which will ease that particularly problem.
